Time - Take a moment to pause....

Imagine there is a bank that credits your account each morning with $86,400.  It carries over no balance from day to day.  And every evening it deletes whatever part of the balance you failed to use during the day.  What would you do?  Every one of us has such a bank.  It is called TIME.  Every morning it credits you with 86,400 seconds.  And every night it writes off, as lost, whatever portion you have failed to invest to good purpose.  It carries over no balance.  And it allows no overdraft.  Each day it opens a new account for you.  Each night it burns the remains of the day.  If you fail to use the deposits, the loss is yours.  There is no going back.  There is no drawing against the "tomorrow".

To realise the value of ONE YEAR, ask a student who failed a grade.  To realise the value of ONE MONTH, ask a mother who gave birth to a premature baby.  To realise the value of ONE WEEK, ask the editor of a magazine.  To realise the value of ONE HOUR, ask the lovers who are waiting to meet.  To realise the value of ONE MINUTE, ask a person who missed a train.  To realise the value of ONE SECOND, ask the person who just avoided an accident.  To realised the value of ONE MILLISECOND, ask the person who won the silver medal at the Olympics.

Our lesson is to live in the present on today's deposit.  Invest it so as to get from it the utmost in health, happiness and success.  The clock is running.  Make the most of today.  Treasure every moment that we have.  Treasure every person we spend our time with.  And remember that time waits for no one.

Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is mystery.  Today is a gift.  And that's why it is called the "present".

G.I. Joe - The rise of the Cobra

Called me a tom boy but G.I. Joe was one of my favourite childhood cartoons.  So I was actually pretty excited and looking forward to see the movie.  Not to mention Dennis Quaid played the role of "General Hawk". :)

Well, what can I say about the movie.  Basically the movie hammer audience with fulled packed actions from the start till the end.  You get to see all the cool high end gadgets and maybe a few "Wow..cool" from the audience.  I was disappointed on the script though the action scenes are exhilarating that it warrants a viewing.  There is one particular action scene that takes place in Paris, France that must have lasted at least 20 minutes, it was absolutely insane!  And most probably my favourite scene from the movie.

What really put me off from this movie is the dialogue and the acting!  I mean come on!  This is a movie!  Not a cartoon!  The acting and dialogue could not have been worse.  Which is why I was pretty disappointed because Dennis Quaid is a good actor...but some how all the actors in this movie are overact and like reading out from the scripts.

Well, aside from all the awful acting in the movie, I think Joseph Gordon-Levitt pulls off a great performance as Cobra.  He was the one character that really made the movie fun and exciting and he reminded me a little bit of Darth Vader.  It wasn't that he was scary or menacing but he was more of the classic bad guy with the deep voice and the menacing laugh.

The film actually goes by fast as the action is enough to keep you in your seat and entertained.  I'm not saying you will not enjoy this movie in a theater, in fact, I would strongly recommend you to see this in the theater, for the sack of actions and sound effects.  I believe there was a critic who said that if you were younger, this would be a great movie and I would 100% agree.  If you are a young boy who plays with these toys and doesn't care about acting or dialogue, you will love it.  I felt the "little young Angela" in me when I was watching the movie, especially during the actions scenes.  Memories goes back to every Saturday morning, a bowl of cereal, and watching the Joes. :)

Lately been neglecting this blog but I'm updating daily on my MSN space.  MSN space is my blog in Chinese and it's actually not open to public... I guess it's my little secret "blog". :)

Anyway, lots happened for the past few months... mostly work stuffs.  Anyway, all good now (I guess).  Last Friday was my last day with my current company... tomorrow Monday will start my new role with PD.  It's going to be a new chapter for me.
